Product Description
In DTH drilling, the percussion mechanism (hammer) is located directly behind the drill bit. The drill pipes transmit feed force, rotation, and compressed air/fluids to the hammer while flushing cuttings. As the hole deepens, additional drill pipes are added to the string behind the hammer. The piston strikes the bit's impact surface directly, with the hammer casing providing stable guidance. This direct energy transfer eliminates joint losses, enabling deeper percussion drilling - a breakthrough for portable water well drilling rigs that can now achieve results comparable to larger truck-mounted rigs.
