Application
 
This is a cable between the J1939 round Deutsch 9-pin connector (test equipment side - mates to the J1939 vehicle) and a DB9 pin female connector. The J1939 +/- data lines are connected to the CAN +/- lines, and the power and ground lines are also connected.
 
Some telematics, fleet management devices or trucking technology devices can be connected to this cable and then to the J1939 9-pin round ports in commercial vehicles. These telematics, fleet management devices or trucking technology devices have the DB9P male ports, which can be matched with the DB9P female sockets on this cable.
 
This cable can also be used to connect diagnostic devices/tools or scanners or code readers (with the appropriate software) to the round J1939 9-pin ports in heavy duty commercial vehicles such as Kenworth, International, Freightliner, Isuzu, Hino, Mack, Peterbilt, Oshkosh, Sterling, Volvo, Workhorse, Navistar and Western Star.
