The Deutsch 9 Pin male receptacles are Type 1, so their Pin F are with bigger diameter. Type 1 or Type 2 J1939 female plugs can be inserted into Type 1 J1939 male receptacles.
One of the J1939 male receptacles is threaded jamnut mount style common on Paccar trucks (Kenworth, Peterbilt, Western Star).

In most cases, all 9 pins of the J1939 male and female connectors are connected, so there are 9 wires of 20AWG in the cable.

Application
There is only one J1939 diagnostic port in trucks. If you want to connect two devices with J1939 port to the truck at the same time, this Deutsch 9 Pin J1939 Y Adapter Cable is needed.
