Tapered Carbon Steel Tube, Cylindrical Welding Wire Screen Tube for Liquid Filtration
Tube tapering is produced through a two-die rotary hammering operation. The start tube (larger diameter) is fed into the swaging machine and into the dies, which are shaped to match the final tapered form. As the tube is fed in, the tooling revolves around the workpiece while moving in and out, creating approximately 3,000 blows per minute to gradually reduce the tube diameter.

Material Compatibility
Most metals can be processed for tube tapering, including stainless steel, titanium, and carbon steels. The primary limitation is tube wall thickness, with a maximum of 10 gauge (3mm) due to the cold forming operation.
Manufacturing Advantages
The rotary swaging process maintains the grain structure of the original material. As the tube diameter reduces, material flows along the section, increasing tube length while slightly thickening the walls.
