ALWAYS ADVANCING
A dump semi-trailer is a specialized semi-trailer designed on the basis of a regular semi-trailer and capable
of achieving unloading automation. Therefore, all semi-trailer structures exist on the dump semi-trailer, but
the difference is that it adds a hydraulic system and a carriage lifting mechanism to automate the unloading
of the trailer. Self dumping semi-trailers are mainly suitable for loading and unloading goods such as profiles
(steel) and bulk cargo.
Structural characteristics and performance parameters of dump semi-trailers
The main components of a dump semi-trailer include: traction pin (traction device), lower frame, support
device, carriage assembly, suspension system, axle and tire, circuit system, braking system, and hydraulic
lifting system.
(1) Traction pin
The traction pin is one of the important components of a semi-trailer. The tractor pulls the semi-trailer through
the traction pin of the trailer, allowing the semi-trailer to operate under the traction of the tractor.
(2) Support device assembly
The supporting device is what we commonly refer to as the semi-trailer support leg. Semi trailers are generally
equipped with support devices, which are installed at the front of the semi-trailer. When the semi-trailer and the
tractor head are detached, the support device, the suspension of the semi-trailer, and the axle tire system
together support the semi-trailer.
(3) Lower frame assembly
The lower frame is the load-bearing component of a dump trailer, which bears the weight of the entire trailer's
cargo and its own weight. Due to the inherent characteristics of dump semi-trailers, when the carriage is lifted
or tilted, the lower frame serves as a support device for the lifting and tilting of the carriage.
