Cut Wire Detection Operation

If the electrical current between the input and the sensor exceeds 1 mA, the wire is detected as intact. If the current drops below 1 mA, the wire is detected as broken and the corresponding input's red LED illuminates.

When using dry contact sensors, the input's red LED will illuminate whenever the contact is open (current at 0 mA). For proper cut wire detection functionality, Schneider Electric recommends installing a pull-up resistor on the sensors to maintain the minimum 1 mA current requirement. A 15 kΩ pull-up resistor is typically used, or calculate the appropriate value based on your specific application.
