Installation Guidelines
Grounding Requirements
Always connect servomotor frame terminal FG to the SERVOPACK ground terminal and ensure proper grounding.
If the servomotor is grounded via the machine, a switching noise current will flow from the SERVOPACK power unit through motor stray capacitance. Proper grounding prevents adverse effects of switching noise.
Noise Prevention
- Keep SynqNet communication cables separate from power lines
- Use ferrite cores on communication cables if noise is problematic
- Ground reference input lines as needed
- Use inhibit type noise filters on power supply lines
Alignment & Orientation
Align motor shaft with controlled equipment using couplings. Install Servopack perpendicular to wall with front panel facing outward.
Improper shaft alignment will cause vibration and damage bearings. Mechanical shock to shaft end must be less than 98m/s² (10G) and applied no more than twice.
Installation Requirements
- Provide sufficient space for natural convection cooling
- Maintain 10mm spacing between Servopacks
- Provide 50mm space above and below Servopacks
- Ambient temperature: 0 to 55°C
- Humidity: 90%RH or less
- Vibration: 0.5G (4.9 m/s²) or less
- No condensation or freezing
