Solvay Galden PFPE
Galden PFPE HT is a line of heat transfer fluids with boiling points ranging from 55°C to 270°C designed for vapour phase soldering process. We recommend using Galden fluids on our IBL vapor phase systems for standard applications.
Their excellent dielectric properties, high chemical stability combined with their capacity to operate at very low as well as elevated temperatures make them the best heat transfer fluids for the aggressive conditions used for various high-tech applications in the semiconductor and electronic industry.
Galden Features:
- Wide choice of grades with different boiling point
- Narrow molecular weight distribution
- No flash or fire points
- No auto ignition point
- No explosion hazards
- Excellent thermal and chemical stability
- Good compatibility with materials
- Low heat of vaporization
- Vapor density greater than air
- Very gentle to components, as no overheating is possible
- Very simple and inexpensive construction of the soldering system - especially for the prototype area
- Due to the high heat transfer much more rapid soldering process
- Soldering with absence of air
- The high molecular weight of the used PFPEs there is practically no drag-out and so costs are very low
- More energy efficient than other soldering methods

High Boiler Grades
Solvey Galden High Boilers (HBs) is the family of heat transfer synthetic fluids engineered for high temperature applications which feature:
- The highest boiling points among fluorinated heat transfer fluids
- Very low vapor pressure and evaporation tendency
- Outstanding non-flammability
- Excellent chemical inertness
- Safety (FM approved 6930 standard)
Solvey Galden HBs are the best candidates for use at temperatures above 150° C to 270° C without pressure build-up and absolutely no fire hazard.
Among the advantages of a sound safety profile for high temperature applications is a positive impact on the Cost of Ownership.
Typical applications for Solvey Galden HBs
1.Heat transfer management in the photovoltaic cell manufacturing process
2.Heat vector in the solar thermal industry
3.Heating fluid
