CNC Turning is a manufacturing process where material bars are held in a chuck and rotated while a tool removes material to create the desired shape. CNC lathes or turning centers feature computer-controlled tooling mounted on a turret.

In CNC turning, material bars rotate while tools shape the workpiece. When centers combine turning and milling capabilities, rotation can be paused to mill additional features. This versatility enables production of diverse shapes, sizes, and material types.

Our CNC equipment includes "live" tooling that can stop rotation to add features like drilled holes, slots, and milled surfaces. Starting materials, typically round but also available in squares or hexagons, require specific collets (chuck subtypes) for each shape and size. Bar length varies depending on the bar feeder system.

CNC turning centers may feature single or dual spindles. Dual-spindle configurations allow partial machining on the main spindle, then transfer to the sub-spindle for additional work on the opposite side. Various turning center models offer different tooling options, spindle configurations, and outer diameter limitations.
