Product Overview

Ejector pins are a critical component in the injection molding process. An ejector pin is driven into the rear of a mold cavity to force the finished piece out and is also often referred to as a knockout pin.

Ejector pins are used in plastic molding and die casting dies. They are fixed elements used to create voids providing the desired shape in molded or cast parts. It is often easier to machine a core pin as a separate element and add it to the A-side or B-side as needed.

Ejector sleeves in molds are used to either eject entire finished molded parts or apply ejection force to specific portions of molded parts to assist with part ejection, in combination with other ejection features designed into the mold.

Technical Features

Sleeve ejector pins are generally made of harder metals such as SKH51, with hardness reaching 58-60HRC. The sleeve pins made of high-quality high-speed steel feature a beautiful metallic luster. The production process of sleeve ejector pins is similar to that of standard ejector pins, but their structural dimensions differ significantly, with large heads typically having irregular sizes.

During production, sleeve ejector pins are typically treated with rust inhibitors to prevent corrosion. When molds are left unused for extended periods, additional rust protection is recommended. After nitriding treatment, sleeve pins gain wear-resistant properties, and durable hot work die steel can withstand temperatures exceeding 1200°C. Current ejector pin manufacturing technology from China's mold parts factories meets international standards.
