Application Description
A steel device used to mold materials into specific shapes. The section in compression molds that engages in opening and closing movements is called a core plate, typically referring to the rear side. This component always leaves a trace on the part as it contains an ejector pin to push the part out.
The rear half of the injection mold is mounted to a movable platen that slides along the tie bars. It provides the negative image of the desired part that appears on the rear side of the mold above the parting line during injection molding. The cavity steels contain the gate and usually a small portion of the runner system.
