RJ45 refers to the standard 8P8C modular connector used for Ethernet networking cables.
The "8P8C" stands for 8 positions, 8 conductors.
An RJ45 coupler is used to join two RJ45 cable ends together. It allows extending the length of a cable or repairing a broken cable.
RJ45 couplers have 8 pin slots on each end to accept the 8P8C plugs from RJ45 cables.
The pins are connected internally in the coupler to join the cables.
They maintain the wiring continuity between the two cables with minimal signal loss. Common wiring standards are T568A, T568B and crossovers.

RJ45 couplers feature metal housing and contacts to ensure stable signal transmission between the connected cables. They latch and lock the RJ45 ends for a secure connection.
RJ45 couplers support network speeds up to 1 Gigabit Ethernet. For 10G Ethernet, GG45 couplers with ARJ45 connectors are used.
