Filter element filtration principle

During the filtration process, the liquid in the pressure vessel is pressurized and passes through the filter cloth, while the solids accumulate on the surface of the filter cloth to form a uniform filter cake. The filter cake adheres closely to the concave and convex cross-sectional shape of the filter cloth and remains on the surface of the medium, thereby continuously maintaining the pressure difference. The clear liquid flows down to the bottom through six peripheral filter tubes, and then flows out of the filter through the upper collection tube from the central tube.

Discharge of filter cake dry material

When the liquid in the filter has been drained and the filter cake has been cleaned and dried, each filter element is subjected to a reverse gas impact. When the filter cloth expands, the filter cake is thrown away.

When selecting and using the transfer pump of the filter, the capacity should match that of the filter and the flow pulsation should be small as far as possible, which is important for the filtering of the drink. If the liquid flow fluctuates, it is possible for the filter cake to fall off partially and the clarity of the filtrate shall be affected accordingly. For the refining filtering whose solid material must be separated, the content of the fuller’s earth or the active carbon in the filter materials to be filtered is more and it is easy for the fuller’s earth or the active carbon to adhere to the pump and impellers, so it is advisable to select and use the single stage open type centrifugal pump. For the more viscosity transfer material, it is available to choose the gear pump or round rotor pump and the flux adjustment is controlled by by-pass valve.
