High Manganese Steel Lining
Metal linings provide high strength and excellent wear resistance, making them ideal for ball mills processing hard materials like ore and metal slag. High manganese steel linings are the most widely used type in industrial applications.
- Composition: 10%-14% manganese, 1.0%-1.4% carbon content (austenitic steel)
- Features: Excellent toughness with work hardening capability under impact (HB200 to HB500+ surface hardness increase)
- Applications: Coarse and medium grinding stages, ball mills processing hard rocks like granite and iron ore
- Limitations: Reduced effectiveness in low-impact environments, higher cost, and challenging welding characteristics
High Chromium Cast Iron Lining
Engineered for extreme wear resistance in demanding industrial environments.
- Composition: 15%-30% chromium, 2.0%-3.5% carbon with Cr7C3 hard phase structure
- Features: Extreme hardness (HRC55-65), 3-5 times more wear resistant than high manganese steel
- Applications: Fine grinding stages, overflow ball mills, processing cement clinker and limestone
- Limitations: Higher brittleness with reduced impact resistance under high-stress conditions
Low Alloy Steel Lining
Balanced performance solution offering both strength and toughness for varied industrial applications.
- Composition: Chromium, molybdenum, nickel, and vanadium alloys (total content <5%)
- Features: Optimal balance of hardness (HRC35-50) and toughness with adjustable composition
- Types: Chromium-molybdenum steel for large linings, nickel-hard cast iron for enhanced performance
- Applications: Medium impact and wear conditions in mineral processing and building materials industries
