Surface Condition Standards
- Ferritic alloy cold-finished tubes: scale-free and suitable for inspection
- Ferritic alloy hot-finished tubes: free of loose scale and suitable for inspection
- Stainless steel tubes: pickled free of scale (bright annealing exempts pickling)
- Special finish requirements subject to supplier-purchaser agreement
Forming Performance
Tubes withstand expanding and beading operations when inserted in boilers or tube sheets without developing cracks or flaws. Superheater tubes endure forging, welding, and bending operations necessary for application without defects.
