Corrosion Resistance Properties
The corrosion resistance of stainless steel seamless tubing depends on the alloying elements contained in the steel. Chromium is the fundamental element for obtaining corrosion resistance. When the chromium content reaches approximately 12%, it reacts with oxygen to form a protective oxide film that prevents further corrosion. Additional alloy elements including nickel, molybdenum, titanium, tantalum, copper, and nitrogen are used to meet various structural and performance requirements.
