Humans have long recognized that smoke has a calming effect on bees, yet the scientific rationale behind this phenomenon remained unclear until the 20th century and is still not fully elucidated. Smoke works primarily by masking the alarm pheromones--complex chemical signals such as isopentyl acetate--released by guard bees or those injured during hive inspections. By neutralizing these warning scents, smoke temporarily disrupts the colony's defensive instincts, allowing beekeepers to safely open the hive and perform necessary tasks without triggering aggressive behavior. Additionally, smoke stimulates a feeding response in bees: anticipating potential hive abandonment due to fire, they instinctively consume honey to prepare for relocation, further reducing their inclination to attack.

Notably, smoke is of limited utility when dealing with swarms. This is partly because swarms lack established honey stores to feed on, diminishing the effectiveness of the feeding response triggered by smoke. Moreover, smoke is generally unnecessary for swarms, as they tend to be less defensive--having no hive or brood to protect--and a newly formed swarm typically feeds heavily before departing its original colony, leaving them in a more docile state.

Bee Star was established from a beekeeper's family since 1950. Until now, the whole families and relatives already have more than 1000 beekeeping apiaries, and one honey and royal jelly plant, one beeswax factory, and one beekeeping equipment factory. They support each other and help each other to develop together. After satisfied the Chinese inland beekeeping market very well, with the continuous expansion of scale, they established the International Trade Department 10 years ago and started the export journey. Bee star is mainly responsible for exporting the products from the family group factories.
