The chemical composition of Royal Jelly varies depending on bee species, age, seasons, and pollen sources. Generally, it contains water, raw protein, carbohydrates, lipids, minerals, and some unidentified materials.

High-quality royal jelly must meet these four essential requirements:

• Color: Must be light yellow to yellow. Fresher royal jelly has a lighter yellow color. Extended transportation without proper freezing may cause slight color changes.
• Taste: Should have a strong, spicy flavor with a distinct plain taste, followed by a subtle sweetness. If the taste is not strong but overly sweet or plain, it may indicate inferior quality or lack of purity.
