The KSD series thermostat operates on the principle of bimetal discs that snap into action with temperature changes. This snap action activates internal contacts to open or close circuits, featuring fixed working temperatures, reliable operation, minimal flashover, long service life, and low radio interference.

Auto Reset vs Manual Reset Types
- Manual Reset Type: Requires button press to reconnect circuit after temperature drops ~20°C from trip point (4-6N force recommended). Requires minimum 20.4mm clearance between reset button and cover.
- Auto Reset Type: Automatically reconnects circuit when temperature drops to reset point without manual intervention.
