The thermal protection switch is typically located on A/C compressor housings. It prevents compressor damage (overheat) through internal friction by sensing the compressor case temperature. When the temperature reaches a predetermined level, it interrupts the electrical circuit to the compressor.

The thermal protection switch protects against overload. This is achieved through a bra shaft placed inside a brass tube in these overload relays (also called "solder pot relays"), where the motor current passes through a small heater winding.

Suitable for various motors, fluorescent lamp commutators, transformers, laminators, lamps and lighting, cover sealing machines, and various household appliances.
