ERIKC Answer:Passing ultrasound though a solution produces millions of high energy bubbles that release their energy when they make contact with a solid object. This energy is effectively a tiny explosion, removing any loose matter that has adhered to a solid object. This process is ideal for cleaning precision automotive components and has more recently been used by hospitals to sterilise operating implements and tools.

FAQ: Why should I clean my injectors?

ERIKC Answer:No matter how well you maintain your vehicle, you cannot stop either tiny partials of dust entering the fuel supply (and subsequently passing though the fuel filter) whilst you refuel or tiny contaminates passing through the air filter whilst the engine is running. This contamination is made worse by modern emissions recirculation systems that recirculate exhaust gasses into the inlet manifold for reburning.

FAQ: What about fuel additives promising to clean my injectors?

ERIKC Answer:Fuel additives do a good job of cleaning carbon deposits from both the inside of your engine and the valves but in reality do little for fuel injectors (except in very serious cases). Neither do such additives balance out injector flow or identify problems with resistance or leaking.

We only recommend using them once every 10,000 miles as overuse can damage to both catalectic convertors and lambda (O2) sensors - this risk is substantial when 'on car' cleaning equipment is used..
