FAQ: What should I do if the high pressure pump fails? Actual rail pressure is low and fuel injection is overrun

ERIKC Answer: Fault phenomenon:

1) The system pressure is low, which usually leads to insufficient vehicle power during driving, and may even cause flameout; 2) It often occurs simultaneously with fault codes P1011 and P0087.

Possible Causes:

1) Leakage or blockage of the low pressure oil line leads to poor oil supply; 2) Leakage of the high pressure oil line leads to too low rail pressure (eg leakage of the pressure relief valve, leakage of the pump plunger, stuck open relief valve, etc.).

Troubleshooting method:

1) Follow the order of inspection: Tank - strainer - gear pump - fine filter - high pressure pump - rail - injector. 2) Low pressure check:

a. Oil tank cleaning, no foreign matter, no clogging of ventilation holes; b. The whole pipeline is free from bending, and the interface is firm without leakage; c. The exhaust bolts on the filter are tightened according to the torque requirements; d. No leakage; e, the oil pump inlet, outlet, oil return port connection is correct.
