Product Description

TENCAN ZM-2 Laboratory Vibratory Ball Mill – High-Frequency Grinding System (0.5–5 L)

Product Overview

The TENCAN ZM-2 Laboratory Vibratory Ball Mill, also known as a vibration mill, is a high-efficiency powder processing system designed for rapid micron- and sub-micron grinding. It is available in single-, double-, and triple-cylinder configurations, offering flexibility for laboratory research, pilot testing, and small-batch production.

The system supports both dry and wet grinding and operates in a fully enclosed, pollution-free environment, ensuring clean processing and material integrity. Multiple liner and cylinder material options are available to meet the requirements of different sample properties and industry standards.

Working Principle

The vibrating ball mill consists of a reinforced frame, heavy-duty base, precision vibration exciter, grinding cylinder assembly, damping springs, and a high-torque motor. During operation, the motor drives an eccentric vibrator to generate high-frequency oscillatory motion, typically at 800–3000 rpm, producing micro-amplitude vibrations within the grinding chamber.

This vibration induces complex three-dimensional movement of the grinding media, generating intense impact, shear, and friction forces. Material size reduction is achieved through continuous high-energy collisions, efficient surface abrasion, and uniform particle dispersion, resulting in rapid and consistent ultrafine grinding.

Applications

The ZM-2 laboratory vibratory ball mill is widely used across multiple industries, including:

  • Advanced Electronics: MLCC dielectric powders, ferrite materials

  • Ceramic Engineering: Technical ceramics, structural and functional ceramics

  • Chemical Processing: Catalysts, inorganic pigments

  • Powder Metallurgy: Tungsten carbide, metal alloy powders

  • Specialty Materials: Quantum dots, graphene composites, battery materials

It is especially suitable for materials requiring short grinding time, high fineness, and uniform particle size distribution.

Key Features

  • High Processing Efficiency: Throughput 3–5 times higher than conventional ball mills

  • Precise Particle Size Control: Adjustable vibration frequency and amplitude

  • Effective Temperature Management: Optional jacketed cylinder for thermal control

  • Continuous or Batch Operation: Adaptable for different production modes

  • User-Friendly Design: Simple operation, low maintenance, robust structure

  • Environmentally Friendly: Fully enclosed system prevents dust and contamination

  • Compact Footprint: Vertical layout saves laboratory space

  • Custom Configurations: Available for GMP, ATEX, and special application requirements

Cylinder & Liner Material Options

To meet different material and industry requirements, the grinding cylinders and liners can be selected from:

  • 304 / 316L stainless steel

  • High-purity alumina ceramic (99.5% Al₂O₃)

  • Yttria-stabilized zirconia (3Y / 5Y-ZrO₂)

  • Engineering plastics (nylon, PTFE)

  • Food-grade polyurethane, PP, PE
