Voltage surges, often referred to as spikes or transients, are typically caused by switching of fluorescent lights, fuses blowing, or nearby lightning activity. The most severe voltage surges are usually caused by lightning and can reach up to 6000V, with current surges exceeding 3000A. The maximum size of voltage and current surges depends on the location within the building's wiring system.
Overvoltages caused by lightning are responsible for 25% to 40% of all equipment damage. When combined with transient overvoltages from other sources, close to 60% of all electrical damage could be prevented by installing proper surge protective devices.
Wenzhou Britec Electric Co., Ltd., established in 2003, is a professional surge protective devices (SPD) manufacturer with extensive industry experience. We provide quality products, competitive pricing, prompt delivery, and excellent service, fostering long-term cooperation with international partners.
