Resilient seated butterfly valve uses the flexibility of rubber seat, could easily achieve zero leakage, therefore is a widely applied valve in oilfield, agriculture, water & wastewater, and mining industries. Due to its rubber lined body materials, it is usually used in low-pressure lines.

Flanged butterfly valves have longer face-to-face dimensions and stronger structure, compared with wafer or lug type butterfly valves. The vulcanization or lining process is, therefore, more complicated than wafer or lugged butterfly valves. For butterfly valves size larger than 24", the flanged end is recommended for longer service.
