The BW 160 mud pump is a reciprocating piston/plunger pump designed to circulate drilling fluid under high pressure (up to 7,500 psi) down the drill string and back up the annulus. This essential well drilling equipment is available in both single-acting and double-acting configurations based on piston reciprocation cycles.

• Prime suction pipe, bottom valve and pump body with water before starting
• Perform two piston reciprocations before initial startup
• Test mud sand content frequently (must not exceed 10%)
• For multi-speed models, operate at all speeds during each shift (minimum 30 minutes per speed)
• Never change speeds during operation - stop pump before shifting
• Stop immediately if abnormal noise, pressure fluctuations, or temperature rise occurs
• For long-term shutdown, drain all mud/sand and apply anti-corrosion measures

• Inspect all components for defects before assembly
• Apply grease to bearings (fill to two-thirds capacity)
• Pack mud block seals with grease prior to installation
• Install components in proper sequence as shown in diagrams
• Ensure all rotating parts move freely after assembly
• Verify proper alignment and secure all fasteners
