The BW 160 diesel-powered pump is primarily designed for drilling operations and supplying flushing fluid (either mud or clean water) to boreholes. It serves as an excellent companion to drilling rigs and can also be adapted for other applications.

This pump excels in transporting high-viscosity fluids and media containing hard suspended particles or fibers. It can handle working conditions that challenge other pump types, with flow proportional to speed. Notable advantages include no eddy current formation during medium transport, insensitivity to medium viscosity, and capability with high-viscosity media.

1. Before starting, fill the suction pipe, bottom valve, and pump body with water, and fill the upper end of the pressure gauge buffer with oil.
2. Reciprocate the piston twice before starting, and begin operation with no load when unobstructed. Gradually increase load after normal operation begins.
3. Frequently test mud sand content during operation, keeping it below 10%.
4. For multi-speed mud pumps, operate at several speeds during each shift for at least 30 minutes per speed.
5. Do not change speeds during operation - stop the pump before shifting.
6. Stop the pump immediately if abnormal noise, water volume/pressure changes, or significant temperature rise occurs.
7. Stop the pump at no load under normal conditions. For long-term shutdowns, open all drain holes, loosen the cylinder head, lift the bottom valve drain rod, and completely drain all mud and sand from the pump and pipelines.
8. For extended storage, clean all parts of mud and oil dirt, drain crankcase lubricating oil, and implement anti-rust/corrosion measures.
