Principle
When water is electrified, an electrolysis reaction occurs. The reaction formula is : H0-H+0H . The hydrogen radical (H*) and hydroxide radical (OH) produced by the electrolysis reaction undergo reduction and oxidation reactions at the cathode and anode, respectively. The generated oxygen and hydrogen will attach to the anode and cathode, respectively. Since the hydroxide bond(OH-) is easier to generate than the hydrogen bond(H-), the production of hydroxide in water is higher than the production of hydrogen and the electrolyzed water appears to be weakly alkaline. Even for water containing electrolytes (such as tap water or pure water with minerals), during electrolysis, because of the membrane in the electrolytic cell, the oxidizing reaction happen due to anions such as (Cl-) move to the and the reduction reaction happen due to cations (Ca+, Mg+, Na+) move to the cathode, so that weakly alkaline water can be generated.
Characterisitics of Weak Alkaline Water
1. Weakly alkaline: pH=7.0~10.0, which meets the human body's needs for a weakly alkaline environment and maintains the body's acid-base balance.
2. Negative potential: OPR = -150mV ~ -350mV, which helps to remove waste such as " excess free radicals " in the body .
3. Rich in hydrogen: Hydrogen concentration is 0.2~0.6ppm , which improves the body's antioxidant capacity.
4. Small molecule clusters: Small molecular clusters consisted of 3 to 6 water molecules are 1/3 the size of tap water and are easier for the human body to absorb.
