Low Running Cost Integrated Design Sodium Hypochlorite Generator for Swimming Pool

Brief Introduction

It is a proven technology to convert salt, by means of electrolysis into sodium hypochlorite using sodium hypochlorite generator ( electro chlorinator system).

A diluted brine solution is fed through electrolytic cell. When a low voltage DC current is applied, electrolysis occurs and sodium hypochlorite is generated instantaneously. NaClO is generated between 0.2% and 0.8% depending on the application. Below 1% is classified as a non-hazardous chemical although still a very effective disinfectant. The only by-product, hydrogen, is safely vented into the atmosphere.

An important use for hypochlorite is as a sanitizer or disinfectant. Both of these uses rely on the hypochlorite's ability to destroy microorganisms. The same oxidative mechanism responsible for hypochlorite's bleaching ability also makes it an effective germicide.

One marked advantage of hypochlorite for these applications is the fact that it, in addition to working quickly, rapidly breaks down to innocuous compounds. For this reason it is useful in chlorination of tap water & sewage effluents, swimming pool water, food processing, etc
