1. Confirm vehicle won't start due to dead battery (no sound or very slow cranking)
2. Position running vehicle with good battery nearby
3. Turn off booster vehicle engine
4. Attach red cable to positive (+) terminal on dead battery
5. Connect other end of red cable to booster battery's positive terminal
6. Attach black cable to booster battery's negative terminal
7. Connect other end of black cable to solid metal ground on dead car's engine
8. Start booster vehicle and rev engine slightly
9. Attempt to start the dead vehicle
10. Once started, disconnect cables in reverse order
11. Keep jumped car running for at least 20 minutes to recharge battery
