This stretch film is cast.
Q:Do you need to heat the plastic to be be able to get something wrapped?
No, it will simple stick to itself.
Q:Is this waterproof?
It is basically a giant roll of Saran Wrap. It will certainly keep something like rain water off of what it covers as long as it is wrapped tight enough and the item is completely covered, but if it were submerged or had a constant flow of water on it, I doubt it.
