Introduction:
Tobacco is a perishable and often expensive consumer product and requires packaging that delivers it to the consumer in the very best of condition. Aluminium foil has been an integral part of this process since the 1950s. Aluminium foil has become the preferred barrier material, particularly for the inner liner of cigarette packets. This is because it combines the ability to retain the characteristic aroma peculiar to each blend and brand, within a unique quality of ‘feel’ and appearance which is light, robust and easy to re-seal. An aluminium foil/paper laminate also offers mechanical qualities not available in alternative materials.
In the tobacco packaging industry, the main uses are the aluminum foil of cigarette liner, the aluminum coating on cigarette case (including cigarette case), and the gilding of tipping paper. According to statistics, at present, about 25% of China's aluminum foil is used for daily consumption, mainly for cigarette packaging. In cigarette packaging, the aluminum foil liner is the largest amount of aluminum. The aluminum foil liner is the composite paper of thin paper and aluminum foil. The thickness of aluminum foil is 0.006mm to 0.007mm. Generally, the aluminum foil (double zero foil) with the thickness of 0.006mm is used, which is soft and has good extensibility. The size of aluminum foil liner for each pack of cigarettes is 154mm × 114mm. According to the specific gravity, the aluminum content of each pack of cigarettes is about 0.284g.
