The capacitive liquid level sensor consists of two main components: the sensor probe and the transmitter unit. The diagram illustrates:
- A: Sensor probe that extends into the container or measuring tube
- B & C: Gas phase and liquid phase connection flanges for equipment interface
- D: Measuring cylinder that forms capacitance with the sensor electrode
- E: Drain flange for periodic cleaning to maintain measurement accuracy
- F: Transmitter unit that converts capacitance changes to standard 4-20mA signals
Installation is straightforward - simply connect the gas-liquid phase flanges to corresponding equipment flanges using gaskets and bolts. Ensure pipe interiors are clean and sealing surfaces are intact before installation.
For high-temperature boiler applications, the transmitter is positioned below the sensor with a heat dissipation section to protect electronics. Note the unique 90-degree arm configuration that prevents medium leakage toward the transmitter.
- Verify all product documentation before installation
- Ensure proper grounding with resistance
- Use safety barriers for 485 communication systems
- Implement effective lightning protection measures
- Handle with care - avoid impacts or unauthorized disassembly
- Store in cool, dry conditions when not in use
