The capacitive intelligent liquid level sensor is a reliable transmitter for liquid, oil, solid, and interface measurement. With no moving parts, it offers enhanced reliability and remains unaffected by water vapor, dust, or condensation. This sensor provides stable long-term operation with high sensitivity, excellent linearity, and resistance to high temperatures and pressures.
The capacitive liquid level sensor consists of two main components: the sensor part and the transmitter part.
A: Sensor that probes into the container or measuring tube
B & C: Gas phase and liquid phase connection flanges for equipment connection
D: Measuring cylinder that forms capacitance with the sensor electrode
E: Sewage flange for regular discharge of contaminants
F: Transmitter that converts capacitance to standard current signal
The KSLV606 display model supports two wiring methods: RS485 and 4-20mA.
Installation Note: Always open the gas phase valve first, then the liquid phase valve to prevent measurement errors from liquid level fluctuations.
Regular maintenance includes checking cable connections and periodic sewage discharge (1-2 times weekly for dirty media, 1-2 times monthly for cleaner media).
Installation is straightforward: connect the gas-liquid phase flanges on the level meter to the equipment flanges with a gasket in between, secured with bolts.
This specialized installation features the transmitter below the sensor with a heat-dissipating section, designed for high temperature environments.
- Prepare a transparent water pipe with scale markings, precision ammeter, rubber stoppers, and test medium (water can substitute).
- Connect the pipe to the liquid phase port, block sewage outlet, keep gas phase open, and connect ammeter as shown.
- Add medium to several height points (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) and compare ammeter readings to expected 4-20mA values.
- Zero Display: Check 24V power supply, transmitter for shorts or quality issues
- Current Below 4mA: Verify actual liquid level, transmitter adjustment, or potential quality issues
- Current Above 25mA: Check for transmitter circuit shorts or high adjustment values
- Erratic Display: Examine actual liquid level fluctuations, line contacts, or transmitter problems
- Slow Response: Clean sensor poles from impurities or check for partial gas phase pipe blockage
- Verify all product documentation before use
- Ensure proper interface matching during installation
- Follow wiring instructions precisely
- Handle with care - no disassembly, collisions, or drops
- Stop use and investigate any abnormalities
- Store in original packaging in cool, dry conditions
- Protect sensor from damage during installation
- Implement effective lightning protection
- Ensure proper transmitter grounding (resistance <4Ω)
- Use safety barrier/isolator for 485 communication systems
