This mechanical seal is ideal for handling acids, caustics, amines, and products containing H2S such as sour water and sour hydrocarbons. Common applications include clean water, sewage water, oil, and other moderately corrosive fluids in refinery and chemical processing environments.
The Type 609 can be configured as a dual seal system using either non-pressurized buffer or pressurized barrier fluid. An integrated pumping ring recirculates barrier fluid to maintain cooler operating temperatures and ensure extended reliable performance.
