Tool Construction
The Multi-Flow Evaluator consists of three integrated sections: indexing mechanism for precise tool positioning, delay system for controlled operation timing, and sampling chamber for accurate fluid collection and analysis.
Operating Procedure
The tool string runs in the hole with the MFE closed to prevent drilling fluid contamination. The bypass remains locked open, allowing fluid circulation through the Full Bore Casing Packer to the annulus.
For shut-in operations, apply approximately 2,000 pounds tension against the MFE (following free-point indication) then lower to apply weight. The hydrostatic bias prevents bypass opening and maintains packer set during lifting operations.
To reopen for flow periods, repeat the lifting procedure with 2,000 pounds tension. After the time delay, a one-inch free fall indicates the tool is open and operational.
