LPR-N Full Bore Tester Valve for Cased Hole Drill Stem Testing
The LPR-N Valve is an annulus pressure-operated full bore tester valve designed for cased hole applications where pipe manipulation is restricted and a full-opening string is required. This valve serves as the master tester valve in drill stem testing operations, enabling multiple closed-in pressure measurements.
Valve Structure & Components
Ball Valve Section
Contains the ball valve and mechanical components that rotate the ball. When activated, the ball rotates to the open position, allowing reservoir fluid to flow into the test string.
Power/Nitrogen Section
Features shear pins, operating piston, and nitrogen chamber. One side of the piston is exposed to annulus pressure while the other side interfaces with pressurized nitrogen, creating a large gaseous spring mechanism.
Metering Section
Isolated from annulus fluid by an oil and floating piston barrier to precisely control the rate of pressure change during operations.
