BOP Safety Valve Control Panel Overview
The BOP Safety Valve is a critical downhole safety component used with Blowout Preventers during drill stem testing operations to maintain well flow control. This fail-safe valve ensures operational safety throughout downhole procedures.
Design Features & Capabilities
Advanced Ball Mechanism
Features a 3.0 inch internal diameter with capability to cut coiled tubing up to 1.50 inch OD with 0.125 inch wall thickness.
High-Pressure Components
  • 15,000 psi qualified plug assembly with metal-to-metal seal and O-ring backup
  • 15,000 psi high-pressure connector with direct hose connection via 3/8" medium pressure female swivel
  • 15,000 psi rated chemical injection line for downhole chemical injection or subsurface safety valve control
Control System Operation
The control line maintains pressure to hold the ball valve open, typically requiring two times the nitrogen dome charge pressure plus 500 psi for lower pressure and temperature conditions. The balance line provides additional closing force when needed, while the nitrogen charge and spring force enable cutting of mono conductor cable or coiled tubing.
