Oilfield Wellhead Grease Injection Control Head
The Grease Injection Control Head provides essential wireline sealing functionality for braided cable operations in oilfield wellhead pressure control systems. Positioned at the top of the pressure control equipment string, this critical component ensures safe and efficient wireline operations while maintaining well integrity.
Design and Operation
The grease injection head consists of two primary sub-assemblies: the stuffing box (pack-off) and the flow tube assembly. The flow tubes feature close tolerance fittings around the wireline and, together with flow tube sleeves, form the main body of the control head. This configuration provides sufficient column height during operation to establish an effective grease seal.
During operation, the grease injection head is assembled around the wireline before attachment to the rope socket. The tool string connects to the rope socket and lowers into the lubricator while the well remains securely shut in below.
