Well Testing Operation Rupture Disc Dual Action Valve Downhole Tester Valve
In drill stem testing operation, there are different tester valves including select tester valve, LPR-N valve, tubing string tester valve and dual action valve. The dual action vlave is a full-opening and ball valve type tester valve and controlled by annular Rupture disc. The dual action valve can be used as a tester valve or a safety valve to close the well under emergency condition.
The RD-DAV can be run in hole in either the open or closed position, the tool can be operated by twice, so called as Dual action
or dual shot valve. A two-way ratchet of the dual action valve is used to prevent the operator mandrel from shifting, except in response to annulus overpressure.
The rupture disc dual action valve can be applied for many operations in high pressure high temperature oil wells and gas wells including downhole testing operation, well completion operation, reservoir testing operation, also the the dual action vlave can be used in deviated and deepwater wells.
