Hydraulic Jar for Cased Hole Drill Stem Testing
The Big John Hydraulic Jar is a critical safety tool designed for downhole testing operations in oil and gas wells. This 5-inch diameter tool operates at 15000psi working pressure to provide upward shock forces that help free stuck tools during drill stem testing operations.
Tool Function & Operation
When a packer becomes stuck during testing operations, the hydraulic jar generates a powerful upward impact by first applying tension to the pipe string, then releasing it to create a sudden contraction and impact force. This mechanical action helps dislodge stuck tools without damaging equipment.
