Requirement on Operators

This unit must be used by a physician who has been sufficiently trained by the facility in clinical plasma surgical techniques, cutting and coagulation of living tissue, and emergency treatment. This manual, therefore, does not explain or discuss these issues. Detailed evaluations of these issues should be made by those who have received such training.

General System Operations

Before each use of the PLA-600, verify that the unit and all accessories are in good working order:

l Inspect for damage to the plasma surgery generator and all its connections.

l Verify that the appropriate accessories and adapters are present.

l Inspect all cords and connectors for signs wear, damage, and abrasion.

l Verify that no errors occur when you turn on the unit.
