Q: Will this tape withstand a full automotive paint bake cycle?
A: Yes. The tape is rated for continuous use at 155℃, making it fully compatible with standard automotive paint bake cycles (typically 60-90 minutes at 140℃–155℃). It maintains adhesion and removes cleanly after cooling.
Q: Does the red pigment bleed or transfer onto painted surfaces?
A: No. The pigment is fully encapsulated within the PET film and does not bleed, fade, or transfer to masked surfaces during oven cycling. Your paint finish remains pristine.
Q: Can this tape be used on freshly painted surfaces?
A: It is recommended to apply the tape only to fully cured painted surfaces. The silicone adhesive is designed for clean removal from cured coatings and metal substrates.
Q: Is this tape suitable for lead-free wave soldering?
A: Yes. The 155℃ continuous rating and >5kV dielectric strength make it an excellent choice for masking PCB gold fingers and connectors during lead-free wave soldering processes.
Q: What is the recommended storage condition and shelf life?
A: Store in original packaging at 23℃ (73℉) and 65% relative humidity. Under these conditions, the tape maintains optimal performance for 6 months from date of shipment. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and high humidity.
