The barrel is a cylindrical metal component open at both ends, with a precisely machined inner cavity for screw rotation. It is made of high-strength, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant alloy steel, while its inner wall receives specialized hardening treatment to ensure exceptional durability.
- Accommodation and Molding: Provides a closed space and channel for the entire extrusion process (solid conveying, melting, mixing, homogenization, and venting), forming the final product shape through the die head at the outlet.
- Heat Exchange: One of the barrel's most crucial functions. Through an externally set heating and cooling system, it precisely controls material temperature, ensuring smooth plasticization (melting) and maintaining optimal processing conditions.
- Screw Interaction: The inner wall and screw groove surface create a shearing effect on materials. This relative motion between screw and stationary barrel enables material shearing, mixing, and compaction.
