Material Overview
Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy (approximately 67% Ni - 23% Cu) offering exceptional resistance to seawater, steam at high temperatures, salt solutions, and caustic environments. This solid solution alloy can only be hardened through cold working processes.

- Superior corrosion resistance in marine and chemical environments
- Excellent weldability and high strength properties
- Low corrosion rate in rapidly flowing brackish or seawater
- Resistance to stress-corrosion cracking in most freshwaters
- Particularly resistant to de-aerated hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acids
- Mechanical properties maintained at subzero temperatures
- Operating temperature range up to 1000°F (537°C)
- Melting point: 2370-2460°F (1300-1390°C)
