Grade 904L stainless steel offers excellent oxidation resistance. Structural stability is maintained up to 400°C, making it suitable for moderate temperature applications.
Solution heat treatment at 1090-1175°C followed by rapid cooling provides optimal hardening and material properties.
Grade 904L stainless steel supports all conventional welding methods without requiring pre-heat or post-weld heat treatments. Specialized 904L electrodes and rods are recommended for optimal weld quality according to AS 1554.6 standards.
