Invar 36 Alloy Stainless Steel Plate with 36% Nickel Content and Low Expansion Rate up to 500°F for Petrochemical Industry
Invar 36 is a premium nickel-iron alloy containing 36% nickel that maintains nearly constant dimensions across normal atmospheric temperatures. This specialized stainless steel plate offers exceptional dimensional stability with a low coefficient of expansion from cryogenic temperatures up to 500°F, while retaining excellent strength and toughness at cryogenic conditions.
Invar 36 can be effectively hot and cold formed using standard manufacturing processes similar to austenitic stainless steels. The alloy demonstrates excellent machinability and weldability characteristics, with Filler Metal CF36 available in bare wire format for both GTAW and GMAW welding processes.
