C95500 aluminum bronze is a copper base alloy with aluminum as the main alloying element. It is aluminum bronze containing Iron and manganese element . It belongs to high-strength heat resistant bronze. Aluminum content generally does not exceed 11.5%, sometimes also add the appropriate amount of iron, nickel, manganese, and other elements, to further improve the performance. Aluminum bronze can be strengthened by heat treatment, its strength is higher than tin bronze, and its resistance to high temperature oxidation is better.

How to Install Bronze Bushings
Proper installation is critical to maximize the reliability and service life of bronze bushings. Always follow specified tolerances, alignment requirements, and preparation procedures.
1. Preparation
-
Check interference fit: Ensure the outer diameter of the bushing exceeds the inner diameter of the housing bore by 0.04–0.10 mm.
-
Surface finish: Remove burrs and achieve a surface roughness of Ra ≤ 6 μm.
-
Oil hole alignment: Confirm oil holes in the bushing align with lubrication channels in the housing.
-
Tools & materials: Prepare pressing tools, appropriate mandrels, and assembly grease.
2. Installation Procedure
-
Standard press-fit (interference ≤ 0.08 mm)
-
Apply assembly grease to both contact surfaces.
-
Press the bushing vertically and slowly into the bore using steady pressure to prevent skewing.
-
-
Thermal or shrink-fit method (interference > 0.08 mm or high-precision applications)
-
Heating method: Heat the housing to 80–120 °C to expand the bore diameter by 0.05–0.10 mm, then press in the bushing promptly.
-
Cooling method: Chill the bushing to shrink its outer diameter by 0.03–0.06 mm, then install rapidly before thermal recovery.
-
3. Post-Installation Inspection & Run-In
-
Dimensional verification: Check bushing coaxiality—≤ 0.02 mm deviation.
-
No-load test: Operate for 15–30 minutes without load, monitoring temperature rise (≤ 20 °C) and checking for abnormal noise.
-
Load testing: Gradually increase load to 50% → 75% → 100% capacity (1 hour per stage), measuring temperature and vibration every 15 minutes.
