Actuator Operating Principles
Single Acting Actuator (Spring Return)
Counterclockwise Operation: Air pressure at port A extends pistons outward, compressing springs and rotating pinion counterclockwise while exhausting air from port B. Upon pressure loss, spring energy retracts pistons inward, rotating pinion clockwise while exhausting air from port A.
Clockwise Operation: Air pressure at port B extends pistons outward, compressing springs and rotating pinion counterclockwise while exhausting air from port B. Upon pressure loss, spring energy retracts pistons inward, rotating pinion clockwise while exhausting air from port A.
Double Acting Actuator
Counterclockwise Operation: Air pressure at port A extends pistons outward, rotating pinion counterclockwise while exhausting air from port B.
Clockwise Operation: Air pressure at port A extends pistons outward, rotating pinion clockwise while exhausting air from port B.
