• Sealing and Leak Prevention: This is the most common application. Utilizing the elasticity of felt, it is packed into gaps in mechanical parts (such as bearings and gearboxes) to prevent lubricating oil leakage while blocking external dust and debris.
• Polishing and Grinding: Harder wool felt strips are frequently used for polishing glass, metal, marble, and even jade. When used with polishing compounds, they can buff surfaces to a mirror-like finish.
• Cushioning and Shock Absorption: Due to its excellent resilience, felt is often placed under precision instruments or heavy machinery to absorb vibrations and protect the equipment.
• Oil Absorption and Lubrication: Industrial felt has strong oil-absorbing capabilities and can be fashioned into oil-retaining pads to provide continuous lubrication for mechanical components.
